I was talking my morning walk when it hit me.
That SPRINGTIME SMELL.
If you're from New England, you know the smell. It's like the earth has started breathing. It's sweet and fresh and good and, after getting hit with three Nor'easters in a ROW, it's possibly one of the best smells in the world.
I took a couple of moments just to breathe it in.
And then -- to make the morning even BETTER, I saw daffodils beginning to spear up through the ground.
SPRING IS HERE! (And oh please oh please oh please don't let it snow again. PLEASE.)
It got me thinking: spring is so wonderful because after a long fallow period, everything gets to start over. It's a time of rebirth and starting fresh. For plants, yes, and critters, but for people too. I know that traditionally people like to use New Year's as a starting point, but let's face it -- it's hard to keep up with your resolutions when it's dark all of the time and you're tired and cold. It's MUCH nicer to embrace change when it's warm and light and green outside.
(You know I'm right about this.)
So let's do it. Let's use this springtime to make positive changes in our lives. If you are a person who wants to get organized? We have planners and desk blotters that will help you to chart out your hours in a way that works for you. We have bullet journals (and super fun colored pens) if that's more your style. And for you regular old writer types, we have journals and notebooks and pens galore to help you to think your way through what you want in life and write it down.
Go outside. Breathe the air. Notice the ground and trees coming back to life and starting fresh.
Now it's your turn.
