Over the weekend, I was asked what I think mankind's best invention is ... so far.
Without hesitation, I said, "Paper."
Now, I know you're probably thinking I'm crazy, but hear me out. Before the internet age, paper was absolutely necessary for the dissemination of information. Without it, documenting knowledge or ideas and then making them available was almost impossible. Oh sure, you could write (or draw) on hides and such, but you couldn't mass produce those works so that they were readily available. You needed paper for that.
Additionally, paper is an amazing artistic medium. You can manipulate it during the process of making it to include new textures and elements. You can shred it, wet it, and sculpt it. You can paint it, cut it, fold it, and make it into things that are new and beautiful.
Paper is where it's at.
Which brings me to LovePop.
As we've mentioned, we love cards and the art of letter writing. Because of course we do! We are a stationery shop! BUT. We also love the art of papercraft. So when we first saw LovePop in person, we MAY have gasped out loud.
These cards are GORGEOUS. They are so lovely, in fact, that we don't think of them as "just" cards. We think that they make a perfect gift in and of themselves. The art that goes into LovePop's work is amazing and, honestly, needs to be seen in person to be fully appreciated.
So come in. Check them out. Pick one up for someone who needs to know that you are thinking of them -- after all, passing sentiments along is one of the things paper was invented for!
